HALE S'-'-N BLANKS for sale aj this Office VMTE take pleasure in announcing to the pubho ft that a School will be opened in Haywood on the id Monday of July next, under the supervision of Archibald R. Black, A. M. It is our purpose to estabn lish here a permanentJClassical School, of the highest order; no pains will be spared to accomplish this end having secured the services of a gentleman whose ability and learning will place it at once among the first preparatory Schools in the State. Mr.

Black graduated at the University in 1853, with the first distinction, and has since devoted himself to teaching. He is an able man, a good disciplinarian, and occupies undeniably the first rank of his profession. The locality too is no inconsiderable recommendation to our School. Haywood is situated at the junc tion of Haw and Deep Rivers, the present terminus of Steamboat Navigation on Deep River, and is a pleasant, quiet and beautiful village. It is elevated and can boast of as pure au atmosphere and as good water as any place in middle North Carolina, and has access to all the productions of the fertile vallies of the above streams, consequently board will always be comparatively cheap.

As to the morality of the place, whatever it may have been heretofore, either in fact or in reputation, we guarantee that for the future all shall be well, be cause we intend making it the homes ot our families. Upon this view of the advantages offered by our School, we hope to obtain, as we are determined to merit, a large share of public patronage. Tuition per sessiou of five months will be: For beginners, $12 OO more advanced English branches, 16 00 higher English branches and the languages, 20 00 Board can be had at $8 per month, in the families of Capt. Bryan, R. E.

Rives, Joseph Avant, Robert Faucctte, B. I. Howze, Maj. Rich. Faucette and others.

Samuel J. Hinsdale sole agent for 14, 1857. Favetteville. 16- 8300 REWARD. It ANAWAY from the subscriber, on the loth of December, 1S.V' a negro bov named DENNIS.

Said boy was about twenty-one years of. age when he left, and weighed ahout 140 or loU pounds. He is dark complected, round faced, full jawed, slightly bow- legged, round shouldered, leans forward when he walks, and is very intelligent He has a scar on the inside of one thigh, caused by a wound received in a fall from a tree. I have reason to believe that he has been in the counties of Johnston, Harnett, Cumberland and Bladen, and in the towns of Averasboro' and Fayetteville, where he passed fjr a free man, under the assumed names of Joseph Jacobs, John G. Williams and William Caldwell, and at times followed the occupation of ditcher.

I have also been informed that he left Raleigh in a buggy with an Irishman, probably under a promise of being taken to a free State I will pay a reward of $100 for his apprehension and delivery to me, or for hi confinement in any jail so that I get him, if taken within thisState: $200 if. taken out of the State; and also for proof sufficient to convict any white person with having harbored him, whether in or out of tiiis State W.
