Ewbank football announces departure 2-C FORT WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM Wednesday Morning November 13 1974 SWC race hectic like in old days coached the Jets to the AFL championship and a Super Bow I triumph over the Colts in 1968 In all Ewbank won three world championships and four division titles as a coach A graduate of Miami of Ohio Ewbank started his coaching career as an assistant at his alma mater He spent 14 years there then moved on to coaching jobs at Brown University Washington University in St Louis and the Cleveland Browns of the old All America Conference He moved into the NFL in 1954 as head coach of the Colts and stayed in Baltimore until 1963 when he moved on to the Jets Until he turned the job over to Winner this season he had been the Jets' only coach Actor won't buy part of
