After a very enjoyable afternoon, the group parted, hoping to have more members present at the next reunion in 5 years. Class Reunion Hold Sunday the Class of 1952 held its 15th class reunion July 30th with a picnic at the Uenox Park. Veldena (Cochran) Long acted as Master of Ceremonies, with Dorothy (Williams) Stoaks, the class secret-ray, calling the roll at which time members told a- foouit their family and occupation. Wanda (Woolley) Wurster ifead 1 letters from the class members and faculty members not able to toe present.

It was decided to have another reunion in five years. Daryl Paul was given recognition for having the most children and Marjorie (Higglns) Hoberts for coming the farthest distance. There were 34 members in the class with only 12 present for the reunion. Those present to enjoy this reunion together were Wilma (Barrans) Hughes and husband Qlen and family, Leota (Fleming) DeVoe and ihusband Doyle and family all of Conway, Veldeva (Cochiran) Long and daughters of Clarinda, Georgia (Ferguson) Stoaks and husband Don and family of Red Oafe, Marjorie (Higgins) Roberts and son of Spirit Lake, Daryl Paul and wfe Donna and family of Stanton. Also Richard Riley and wife Shirley and sons, Dorothy (Williams) Stoaks and husband Howard who are both members of the class 'and son, Margaret (Shawler) Calvin husband Jack and sons, Wanda (Woolley) Wurster and husband Ronald and daughters, Twila (Welch) Shepherd and h'jsband Donald and family, all of Lenox.

More htan 130 guests attended the reception.

Mr. and Mns. George Austin of Lenox and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Austin of West Des Moines received the guests with their parents iand Mrs.

Zola. Miller of Mt. Ayr. Mrs. Miller was Mrs.

Austin's attendant at her wedding 50 years ago. On the serving table was a three-tiered cake, baked and decorated by Mrs. Roland Boltinghouse of Lenox. Yellow and white carnations were laid around the cake with gold candles on either side. Nieces of Mr.

and Mrs. Austin were hostesses" at the reception: Mrs. Clyde Trullinger of Mt. Ayr poured the coffee. Mrs.

Marvin Willet of Des Moines dipped the punch. The cake was cut and served by Mrs. Don Harvey and Mrs. Bill Priest of Mt. Ayr.

Mrs. Paul Brand of Mt. Ayr had charge of the gifts. Mrs. Clifford Rhinehart of Grant City, was in charge of the guest book.

Mrs. Walter Stapleton, Mrs. Harry Rodgers, Mrs. Paul Calvin and Mrs. Wyat Grimm were kitchen hostesses.

Mrs. Daryl Hall of Des Moines and Miss Kathy Harvey of Mt. Ayr were dining room hostesses. Following "the reception a dinner was served to seventy-five friends and relatives. Guests attended from Peoria, 111., Grant City, Maryville, Kansas City, Kansas, Sterling, Kansas, Des Moines, Mt.

Ayr, Elliott and Coming, Iowa. Mrs. Carrie Dahlberg, Mra. Bob Reynolds, Mark and Jimmy of Kansas City, Mr. and Mrs.

Ernest Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones, Oskaloosa, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Morris, Mr.

and Mrs. Kenneth Morris and family, Ctearfield, Mr. and Mrs. Haldean Morris and family, Kent, Mr. and Mrs.

Bob Morris and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Mack Pershih and Mrs. Jack Calvin. Sunny Sisters 4-H Club Busy members of the Sunny Sisters 4-H Club held an all day m'eeting on June 24, 1967 at the home of Debbie and.

Gail Brokaw. Work period was held with the following projects being made by the girls: dresses, tote bags and tissue paper collages. Following a sack lunch, the business meeting was held. The Achievement show was planned for July 15. Committees were appointed as follows: Judges gifts Gayle Routh and Nancy Riley.

Place Jill and Jayne Brokaw. Refreshments Diane Morley, Cecelia Schweers and Angel Morris. Program Terridee Miller, Cathy Schweers and Carla Burch. A thank you note was read from Mr. and Mrs.

A. J. Ambrose for the May basket. Tips for buying shoes were given by Diane Morley in her talk Suise Buys Her Shoes. An activity, Knowing Your Machine was conducted by Gail Brokaw.

At the close of the meeting, refreshments were served by the hostesses. Reporter, Debra Daggett Following lunch, many guests arrived for the program and to view the exhibits. The Junior demonstration teams selected to go to the County Fair were as follows: Lined-Up by Terridee Miller and Angel Morris. This was on the importance of correct posture. Clever Clues on Color Hues by Gall and Debbie Brokaw was on hints to help individuals select correct colors for their costumes.

The Big BrushJCJp, presented by Jill Brokaw and Debra Daggett showed how to 'Use brushes for good grooming. Humpty 'Dumpty's Mistakes by Jayne Brokaw and Carla Burch was named first alternate. It was about safety procedures. Cinderella's Slippers by Diane Morley and Cecelia Schweers showed how many different kinds of shoes there are. This was named second alternate.

Gayle Routh and Nany Riley were named 'as Senior Demonstration team winners on Tree I. D. They explained how to identify trees found in our area. Following the demonstrations, a style show was presented. Cathy Schweers gave descriptive comments as each girl modeled a garment she had constructed.

Cookies and tea were served to guests concluding a very busy day for members of the Sunny Sisters. Reporter, Debra Daggett intermediate teams participated in the 4-H Girts Demonstration Contest which was held in the- Blue Check Room on July 21. Miss Dorothy Bartleson, Extension Home Economist from Creston, judged the demonstrations. The Blue ribbon demonstrations were: Grooming With Gloves, Janet Gold, Bedford, Carriage Madam, Linda Gray, Bedford; Fingertip Grooming, Mairy Jane Dukes and Lou Ann Stroburg, Btocfcbon; One Two Shine My Shoe, Rena Livingston, Bedford, and Beverly Slaten, Blockfcm; Perfect Care For Every Pair, Marcia Wetesel, Corn- Ing; Assembling a Sewing Kit, Roberta Dowlin and Lynn Roberts, Bloofcton; That Magic No. 14, Terri Roberts, Lisa Campbell 'and Cyndte Sanders, Blockton; Where's That Hang Tag, Vicki and Patti McDonald, New Market; Groovy Grains, Jeanne Rogers and Mary Ettleman, Bedford; Hand and Nail Care, Sandra Barker and Pauline Bennett, Lenox; and Arranging Flowers, Judy Bennett and Kathy Haynes, Lenox.

Red ribbon demonstrations were Posture Perfect, Debbie Bedford, and Rebecca Simmons, Blockton and A Sewing Kit, Susan Scott, Conway and Rosalie Miller, Sharpsburg. Girls Demonstrations Results Announced Seven junior teams and six Pays to Buy where Vou Live Butler Reunion Sunday, July 30th The Butler reunion was held at the Lenox Park Sunday, July 30th at noon! with 81 present. The girls have been busy. Looks like a department store. These were comments heard at the Achievement Show of the Sunny Sisters 4-H Club on July 15 at the Mercer Center church. During the morning Mrs. Evelyn Lund and Mrs.

Ellen Grace Brown judged garments and had a conference with each member. This was helpful as they told us what to do to make our garments better. ON VACATION I will be out of my office from July 31 until Aug 14th Will be back in office August 14th DR. R. W.
