Read Doonesbury on the comics page ol The Miami Herald PLANES TKAJKS I ADTOMGBIliS Ml IA 155 S55 By HAL BOEDEKER Herald Staff Writer Call me a churl but sitting through Three Men and a Baby is hard work Imagine being buried under a mountain of smiley faces and listening to nonstop choruses of a nice This is one cute movie If you like your movies sitcom slick look no further The three men of the title are New York bachelors whose lavish apartment is fit for Donald Trump These guys are studs There are so many women going in and out of the apartment you would think it was the room at Grand Central Station Jack (Ted Danson) is a vain childish actor and the biggest womanizer in the bunch He is described as giant and not talking about the thyroid Peter (Tom Selleck) is an architect with a steady girlfriend Margaret Colin) a wandering libido and a dislike for sentiment This of course makes him a sitting duck for all the sentiment that will be flung at him later in the movie And finally there is Michael (Steve Guttenberg) a cartoonist and a washout with women His is a cardboard character but a slam against paper products They usually have more character The idyllic bachelorhood is disrupted when a baby is deposited on their doorstep freewheeling ways have caught up with him his child from a fling with an actress The irresponsible Jack also accidentally involves the trio in a drug smuggling plot Three Men and a Baby is THREE HE 111 BABY 1:35 3:35 5:35 1:35 9:35 TEEH WOLF TOO (PG) 1:35 3:35 5:35 7:35 9:35 Freshmen have always had trouble adjusting to college life But never like this CiKGERELU (G) 1:30 390(30 530 1:30590 0I5TY DANC1KG (PG-13) ISO 350 550 150 950 OEATHWiSH IY THE CSJtCKQOW (I) 1:45 5:45 9:45 moderately funny but it should have been better an American remake of the popular French farce Three Men and a Cradle which was nominated for an Oscar Something got lost in the translation In French the story was charming In English cutesy-poo The movie makes this point: Babies are wonderful and they change your life But you know that?
