go through the vertical loop The sensation of standing as the coaster careens along at break-neck speed provides unique breathtaking excitement The ability to move and restore existing wooden coasters was recently demonstrated and has renewed interest in these rides Previously wooden coasters were lost when parks closed After Paragon Park Hull Mass closed in 1984 the future of the legendary Giant Coaster was clouded The 1917-built coaster is a top-1 0 ride a proven thriller Fortunately for coaster buffs this jewel of a coaster was dismantled and transported to a new site near Washington DC Last winter it was refurbished and rebuilt at a cost exceeding $1 million and renamed Mid-Atlantic riders may now enjoy this 3400-foot-long 98-foot-high nightmared that packs an initial 60 mph whallop Another wooden coaster has also been taken down and is being completely rebuilt It has not been moved however The Wildcat an 85-foot-high twister at Herehey Lake Compounce Bristol Conn was originally
