Thursday, May 9, 1974 10 LAKE CITY SCHOOL NEWS Carroll Daily Times Herald Mav 9. 197-4 At the music contest for large groups at Odebolt last Saturday Lake City's mixed chorus and girls' glee each received a Division I rating. The band was rated II. Lake City high school students came to school last Friday in the garb of the 1950's. At night after the Lake City Relays the cheer-leaders sponsored a sock dance in the lunch room. Winners in the costume contest were announced to be Jean Me C au11ey and Dan Blankenship who were then crowned king and queen of the dance. Jean wore a gray skirt and white blouse, bobby sox, and saddle shoes, and her hair in a pony tail. Dan wore white T-shirt and jeans, and had his hair parted in the middle and combed back straight. It was a fun day. In the cheer-leaders tryouts in Wednesday, the following were successful: Freshmen Kathy Bruggeman sophomores, Lori Beckman juniors, Shelley Savage seniors, Jane Coins; at-large, Lori Becke, Janet Claiborne, Angie Dirks, Brenda Bruggeman. Pep Club officers elected last week were Jean Van Ann, president; Rita Wiederin, vice president; Cindy Schleisman, secretary; Jane Coins, treasurer; Jan Turner, mascot. Candidates for graduation at Lake City include Linda Jane Allen, Charlotte Rae Anderson, Jon Melvin Awtry, Virgil Lynn Boyd, Catherine Jean Carisch, Sherry Ranee Carlson, Diane Lynn Carroll, Michael Dean Corderman, Nancy Mari Daisy, Gary A. DeLong, Terri Jean DeVries, Richard Dean Dirks, Debra Linnette Dooley, David George Filmer, Patti Lee Gem'befling, Colleen Deanne Ciidel, Roxanne A. Green, Toni Marie Green, Dawn Maree Griggs, Jeffry Ricardo Harada, Janna Marie Might, Roxanne Fae Hiler, Mark Allen Hinners, Susan Ann Hinners, Kevin V. Holm, Rick G. The "top ten" dinner is to be held May 13 at the Presbyterian education building. 125 pre-school children received complete physical examinations at the annual Lake City Kindergarten Clinic held Friday May 3 at the Presbyterian education building. Physicians, dentists and eye specialists donating their services were Dr. Dale Christensen, Dr. C. F. Apostol, Dr. Jean Rickey, Dr. J. C. Comstock, Dr. W. H. Loeck, Dr. Charles Loeck, Dr. E. W. Seufferlein, and Dr. Earl Rock. Nurses were Mrs. Mary Hanson, Mrs. Shirley Hunziker, Mrs. Jane Moore, Mrs. Phyllis Ringgenberg, Mrs. Shirley Beckman, Mrs. Virginia Curry.
