Defending league champions Resuta's rose to the occasion last week as the G-Men fought off new entry Bobby D's to win the championship of the Freeland Summer English-Style Dart League. Resuta's emerged on top, 23-13. The Resuta's team, the boys of summer but this time around with one girl, thus retained its crown after having won the tide in the summer circuit last year, the first summer of operation of the English darts circuit.

Buzzard's 20-12 triumph over the challenging Reds gave the team the second-half title to add to its first-half crown. Buzzard now awaits the championship playoff with Pitman's Furniture, which also won both halfs of the league's National Division. Pitman's is the defending champs, while Buzzard is in its first season in the NS circuit. The Buzzard team and the Reds played even softball for most of last night's game with the exception of the third inning.

With the score tied at 3-3 entering that frame, Buzzard poured across 12 big runs to just about put the game out of reach at 15-3. Eckley pecked away, but couldn't surmount the run advantage.
