Alan Sussman of Northbrook, Illinois. In May, Sue will be graduated from Stephens College with a BA degree. She is active on the volleyball and swim teams, student teaches in the Columbia, Missouri public school system and is employed by the college as a resident student assistant. In the fall, she plans to enroll In University of Missouri to work toward a master's degree In adapted P.E., physical education for the handicapped. Brian, a graduate of Glen-brook High School, will be graduated from the University of Missouri In May, with a BS degree in radio, television and film.

and Mrs. Arthur Gene Papa (Elisa Simmons) who were married April 2 at St. Joseph's Church in Capitola. Father John Kennedy officiated at the double ring nuptials. Elisa, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Robert P. Simmons of Santa Cruz, was escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a high necked white chiffon gown with an imported Belgium lace inset and satin venise fleurettes on the full sleeves. Bands of Cluny and Venise lace bordered the ruffled en train hemline.

A bandeau of lace and pearls held her tiered silk illusion veil and she carried white roses, stephanotis and bristol fairy. Fredricka Simmons was her sister's maid of honor and secondary attendants were Arthur's sister, Mrs. Garry Perkins, Stephanie Lopez and Jackie Rees. They wore light blue gowns and carried nosegays of white daisies, blue carnations, roses and baby's breath. Arthur, the son of Mrs.

Isabella Pappa of Santa Cruz and the late Alfiero Papa, asked his brother, Henry, to be his best man. Seating the 300 guests were Garry Perkins, Elisa's brother, Patrick Simmons, and Arthur's nephew, John Papa. Barbara Mazzel played the wedding music on the organ. A buffet reception followed in parish hall with Lyle Allen making and cutting the tiered cake. Carol Landino passed the guest book.

The Drifters, Art's uncle's band, played for dancing. Among special guests were the bride's uncle, Jose Ortega, and Arthur's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wilson. April 1 at Holy Cross Catholic Church.

More than 200 guests witnessed the double ring ceremony read by Father Scott McCarthy. Meredith is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Franz of Felton and Jocelyn is the son of Mrs.

Gilbert Jodar of Capitola. The bride wore a full skirted gown of white eyelet styled with a double ruffled peasant neckline with the en train skirt also featuring a wide ruffle at the hemline. A cap of lace and pearls held her fingertip veil and she carried yellow and white roses and daisies. Tammy Friesen was the honor attendant in a yellow chiffon gown styled the same as the bride's. She wore a yellow picture hat and carried a nosegay of yellow and white roses and daisies.

Jacqueline Jodar, sister of the bridegroom, was the flower girl, wearing a dress made for her by the bride. Jocelyn's brother, Joseph, served as ring-bearer and lit the candles prior to the service. Dennis Whittington performed best man duties and ushers were Meredith's brothers, Glenn and Paul, and Jocelyn's brother, Joseph. During the nuptials, Bible readings were given by Robert Irwin and John Rienert. Meredith and Jocelyn made the bread used for communion and assisted Father Scott in serving.

Sister Barbara Long was the organist, accompanying Mike Collier who sang "Wedding Song" and Glenn and Paul Franz who sang a duet, "I'll Be Your Friend." A champagne reception followed at the Santa Cruz Woman's Gubhouse with Julie Paterson, Adrienne White and Kay Coffin assisting in serving. Bonnie Walton was at the guest book. Meredith's grandfather, Edward Hazen of New Jersey, was a special guest. Playing for dancing was Mike Gangloff's band. The bride was graduated from Baymonte Christian High School and attended Cabrlllo College.

She is employed by in Santa Cruz. Jocelyn, a Soquel High graduate, is assistant manager of Hebert Enterprises. The new-i lyweds are making their first home in Santa Cruz. now teaches math, drama and leadership and is student body counselor at Bayslde Middle School In San Mateo. Jerry, son of Mrs.

Melva Flourre of Boynton Beach, Florida, and the late Edwin Martinson, was graduated from Royal Oak High School in Michigan. He earned BS and MA degrees from University of Michigan and also attended Yale University In the doctoral program on a teaching fellowship. He is a teacher and heads the science department at Bayside Middle School. Mary Colette Chiorini and Jerry Allen Martinson are newly engaged and plan to be married in July at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Mary, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Jack Chiorini of Santa Cruz, was graduated from Holy Cross High School and College of Notre Dame where she earned a degree in history and an elementary teaching credential.
