Games Monday Monessen at Monongahela Charleroi at Brownsville (Midway, Kuvinka) Len DiPaoIa's seventh-inning single gave the Monongahela Wild cats a 4-3 victory over the Donora Dragons on the Donora field yesterday. The Monongahela Wildcats will meet California at Quinn Park at 3:30 today in a Section 18 game postponed May 3. The ground hit to center scored Sonny MeVieker, who had walked and stolen second. The win moved the Cats into fourth place in Section 18 standings. Jess Leach went the distance for the local team, striking out 11.

He held the Dragons to five hits. Three of them were for extra bases, however, including Fritz Sala's home run in the first inning on the first pitch. Sala also smashed a triple to lead the Dragon attack. Leach's record is. now two wins and four losses the same as the Cats', since he has pitched every inning the Monongahela team has played in Section 18.

At California, the undefeated Charleroi Coufrs got a scare from the lowly Cub but won, 9-6, with three runs in the eighth inning. The Cougars had to use three pitchers, including their ace, lefthander Freddy Uhlman, to secure the victory. The Brownsville Brownies blasted Monessen, 11-0, snapping the Greyhounds two-game winning streak. Eddie Roebuck was the winning pitcher. He was relieved by Lou Monath when the issue was no longer in doubt.
