resident of 10 years in Richmond County NC where he owned and operated The Mayfair Grille in Ellerbe He later moved to Liberty County GA in 1958 and while in partnership with DeWitt Trucking opened Liberty Truck Center He was the owner of Car Care in Midway GA He was a charter member and past president of the Liberty Coastal Lions Club where he was actively involved with Camp Leo a children's camp for the blind He was also a notary public and former Justice of the Peace in the Fleming district was also an avid Nascar fan for many years and worked as pit security at the Charlotte Motor
