Dr. Kranfz to discuss "Within Evolution" at UR Dr. Reinhold Krantz, Director of the Divisbn of Science and Iilathematics at the. University of Redlands will discuss "Within Evolution" Tuesday, March 17 at 8:15 p.m. His lecture, presented as part ol the Faculty Lecture Series win be concerned with energy needs and potential both today and tomorrow, rather than the organic evolution implied by the tiUe. Speaking in the UR Peppers Art Gallery, Dr. Krantz will address himself to the problem of an increasing demand for energy and the pessibility of inadequate sources in the future. Other problem areas which Dr. Krantz is expected to discuss are the population explosion, the little recognized problem of today's knowledge explosion, and the saline water conversion programs. Dr. Krantz received his master's degree from the University of Illinois and earned his Ph.D. at Michigan State University. He received a Fulbright scholarship to teach organic Air Force worns of sonic booms LOS ANGELES (UPl) - The I Air Force today warned resi- I dents in a wide area of the West that a joint Air Defense Command-Strategic Air Command exercise Friday might re- jsult in some "disconcerting, but 'harisless" sonic booms. A spokesman said some 647 and B52 jet bombers will make low-level sweeps near large cit ies in California, Nevada, Ore gon and Utah—and that resulting sonic booms might rattle a few windows. Attorney A.L. Wurin said Cohen has hand-written a long petition asking freedom on parole from his 15-year sentence.
