David McMurtrie, of the drug firm of McMurtrie Akers, is a candidate for delegate to the republican state convention. The Keystone Building and Loan association last evening sold thirty-five shares of stock at premiums of 8 to 10 per cent. Mr. W. K.

Heck, of Three Springs, Huntingdon county, is visiting his sister Mrs. James McFeeley, of 1204 Seven teenth street. An informal meeting of the members of select and common councils was held last evening at which various matters pertaining to the city solicitorship was discussed. Mr. E.

R. Jones, of Port Matilda, ar rived in this city yesterday and will in a day or two take to his home in that place his daughter and grandchild, the wife and daughter ot tne late Joseph mc- Kelvev. a brakeman who was killed near Conemaugh last week. Messrs. J.

C. Orr, B. W. Blake and Fred Oeffinger, all of this city, spent last week in Bedford county on a deer hunting expedition. They succeeded in slaying two fine deer, one being killed by Mr.

Orr and the other by his two companions. Mr. Orr has in his hunting experience succeeded in killing about three dozen of these fleet-footed animals, being almoyt an average of one for each year of his age. This is a record that is hard to beat. Postponed Till January 3.

The fee suits of A. V. Dively, against J. B. Cowen, John Coho, Rudy Farabaufrh.

T. J. Armstrong, m. j. Boyer, Samuel Curry, W.

B. Armstrong and Joseph Kinsel, before Alderman Doyle, were finally postponed yesterday afternoon until January 3. Almost the entire time of yesterday's hearing was taken up by Mr. Dively in endeavoring to prove that the fee claimed was not exorbitant. Twelve witnesses testified and half a hundred more were present on subpoenas.

At the conclusion of the testimony everyone was as much at sea as ever, so the case was postponed. Alderman Doyle humorously remarked last evening in regard to the postponement: "For the convenience of everybody concerned I postponed the case until January that is so far ahead that they didn't know if it would be convenient or not." Marriage Record. The following marriage licenses were granted by J. L. Hartman, clerk of the orphans' court, at Hollidaysburg, since our last report: To J.

S. Cherry, of Altoona, and Susan Albright, of Bellwood. To J. II. Zeigler, of Kipple, and Ella Reigh, of Blair township.
