Kirkwood Ciihs Conduct Derby KIRKWOOD - The Cub Scout Pack meeting was held at Young's Lake Thursday evening with a pinewood derby featured. Nine boys participated in this event, with Cubmaster George Baxter in charge of the track. Winners in this event were David Vice, first; Greg Harrison, second, and Jimmy Lauver, third. The boys had whittled out their own cars and decorated them in preparation for this contest. Den winners were Den No. 2, first; Den No. 1, second, and Den No. 3, third. Scheduled events for the Cub Scouts for July are as follows: July 2 at 10 a.m. the boys will meet at the baseball diamond 'or the intra-den baseball game, July 9. cubs will meet at the Methodist Church at 12:30 a.m. for a trip to Rock Island, wljere they will visit the WHBF television station and be guests on Grandpa Happy's TV show. July 15, a trip to the Boy Scout Camp, Camp Pearl, is planned. July 25 there will be a pack meeting and it is to be a father-son affair. Mr. and Mrs. Milroy, with Mrs. Mabel Hedstrom, Mrs. Olive Ericson, Miss Louise Ericson, Mrs. Florence Johnson and Mrs. Ona Courtright, of Oneida, and Mr. and Mrs. Herschell Lundeen, Sonja and Roger of Galesburg, had dinner Friday at the Holiday Inn in Galesburg.
