angels notes Tanana said there was less pain in his shoulder Sunday, compared to Tuesday's effort. "It felt better today than the last time out," Tanana said. 'There's some aches and pains, but you've just got to suck it up and do the best you can. Before my rehabilitation, I was worrying more about the pain in my shoulder than about getting the hitters out. Now, I'm throwing without apprehension or fear of pain and consequently I can keep the game in my head rather than worrying about the shoulder." Someone commented to Tanana that he didn't appear at all surprised at his comeback success.

"I have a little bit of confidence in myself," he said. "I know if I go out there and I'm on. I'm going to be pretty tough. I've had pretty good success in my career." OH today, the Angels leave for Chicago, where they will begin the most important road trip in the club's history. They play two against the White Sox, three in Milwaukee and then the showdown four games in KansasCity.

Nolan Ryan (15-11) is scheduled to oppose the White Sox' Rick Worth-am (14-11) Tuesday with Chris Knapp (3-3) going Wednesday against Ken Kravec (11-13). Carney Lansford now has 51 multipie-h't games for the Angeis this season His 173 hits gives him the sixth-Highest total in Angel history Dave Frost was scheduled to throw on the sidelines Sunday to test his sore elbow, but decided instead to wait until Tuesday. Pitcher Don Aase, who has been struggling terribly in recent outings, threw Dnor to Sunday's game "He threw the bail exteme-ly well," Fregosi said. "We took him down to the bullpen and took some film of him." The Angels are looking for some mechanical problems in his delivery. "We changed a few things," Fregosi said.

The Angels have now attracted 2,289,278 the fifth-highest total in American League history and 582,131 ahead of last year's record. latest line Falcons not likely to duplicate that scoring spree at New Orleans in game agamst the Eagles, both clubs appear to be a notch or so beiow their stature of last year and would take points with the Falcons for a potentially close decision either way.
