abt 1840 in Missouri married Nancy Colson. Their first son, James Sales McDaniel, was born in Paris, Lamar County, Texas on July, 18, 1859. James married Susan Gilstrap and she had their first child, George Everton McDaniel, on October 5, 1881, in Montague County, Texas. Some time between 1859 and 1881 there has got to be some record of the McDaniel family in Lamar County. According to census reports, both of William's parents were born in Tennessee.

Both of Nancy's parents were bom in Virginia. James and Susan settled in Rockwall County, Texas. They are buried in the Parker Cemetery with most of their children. That cemetery is now online on the Rockwall GenWeb page. While researching in Rockwall County, I obtained the original marriage certificate of George E.

McDaniel and Frances Dickson. Would love to find just a record of James and Susan's marriage. My burning question is "Where is my McDaniel clan from 1859 to 1881?" Are there census records? Polly Howard my gmother, was born in Lamar County. I would love to find other members of this family and exchange information. Carol L.McKinney. e-mail: JEFFERIES, JEFFRIES Looking through the cemetery records, I see that my father and grandfather's name is listed as 'Jeffries', but it is spelled 'Jefferies' on my birth certificate. My grandfather was William Davis (Jeffries in your records) and his wife was Mildred Rhoades Jefferies.

Is there some tie between the two families, a misspelling in the records or did my Dad appropriate the name of a more popular family in town? Vickers-Newberry Shana Lea Newberry and Kristoffer Lee Vickers, both of Paris, Texas, were united in marriage on Saturday. November 20, 1999 at United Pentecostal Church in Paris. The Reverend Mike Fortenberry performed the double-ring ceremony, assisted by the Reverend Robert Myre.

The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Susie Newberry of Paris. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Kent and Mr. and Mrs.

W.T. Newberry. The groom is the son of Rick and Beverly Vickers of Paris. He is the grandson of the late Mr. Lee and Ms.

Diane Vickers, Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Schumann, and Mr. and Mrs.

Charles Reinhardt. Wedding music was provided by pianist, Jim Lipscomb, and soloist, Rhonda Newberry. The bride was escorted to the altar by her father, Jerry Newberry. She chose a Mon Cheri wedding gown with a modified natural waist and full, floor-length skirt. The Dulciana satin gown was fashioned with a scoop neckline and short cap sleeves.

Reembroidered Venice lace and hand-beaded pearls adorned the waist and semi-cathedral train. The bride's headpiece was handmade by her Grandmother Kent. Miniature ivory flowers with centered single pearls clustered the headpiece. Cinnamon and ivory roses with baby's breath and ivory satin ribbon composed the bridal bouquet. Attending the bride as matron of honor was Stacie Newberry.

Bridesmaids were Melissa Mayer, Allison Bunch and Sheena Vickers. Riley Kee was flower girl and Kelby Cole performed the duty of ring bearer. Tracy Fitzgerald was best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Corey Fortenberry, Matt Welch and Cody Newberry. Candle lighters were Levi Nichols and Rebecca Schumann.

Kyran Burchinal and Kristin Wright handed out programs. A reception was held at the Family Life Center of United Pentecostal Church. House party members included Natalie Coco, Jency Cole, Laurie Dudley, Kathy Kce Heather Langston and Liz Nichols. All wedding party dresses were created by Sewing by Theresa. Jency Cole, aunt of the bride, was wedding coordinator.

The rehearsal dinner, hosted by Rick and Beverly Vickers, was held at the Fellowship Hall of United Pentecostal Church. The bride is a graduate of Paris High School and attends the University of North Texas. The groom is a graduate of Paris High School and attends Texas He is employed by Earthgrains. The couple was honored with showers before the wedding. A miscellaneous shower was given by ladies of United Pentecostal Church.

Jency Cole, Kathy Kee and Liz Nichols, all aunts of the bride, hosted a personal shower at the bride's home. Following a wedding trip to Playa de Carmen, Mexico, the couple will live in Paris. Edwards-Osbourn Candles illuminated the marriage ceremony of Miss Courtney Anna Osbourn of Valley Spring, Texas, and Mr. Lindsay "Mac" Edwards of Paris, Texas. They were united in a double-ring service at six o'clock in the evening on Saturday, November 20, 1999 at the Llano Church of Christ in Llano, Texas.

Mr. Jamie Hemphill officiated. The bride is the daughter of Malcolm and Anna Osbourn of Valley Spring, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Ernest J. Botard of Alice, Texas, and Mrs. Clytie Osboum of Valley Spring, Texas. The groom is the son of Betty Edwards and the late Bob Edwards of Paris, Texas. The bride wore an elegant candlelight design by Alfred Angelo.

The silk shantung gown featured a fitted bodice of re- embroidered Alencon lace encrusted with seed pearls. The V-shaped back was accented by a semi-cathedral length train. The blusher veil of candlelight illusion, bound with satin ribbon, fell from a tiara of pearls. The bride carried an arm bouquet of calla lilies tied with candlelight satin ribbon. Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride was given in marriage by her parents.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Miss Kayla Osboum, sister of the bride. The bridal party included: Mrs. Jana Osbourn of Bandera, Texas; Mrs. Dawn Cahill of Sonora, Texas; Miss Kristina Fritz of Atlanta, Georgia; Miss Korky Osbourn of Dallas, Texas; Miss Lucinda Pullen of Austin, Texas; and Mrs. Whitney Smith of Abilene, Texas.

The bridesmaids wore formal dresses of midnight chiffon. Each carried an arm bouquet of fall-hued gladiola. Miss Madeline Claire Bezner, cousin of the bride, served as flower girl. She was adorned in a princess creation of candlelight silk shantung. The best man was Mr.

Robert Edwards, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were: Mr. Drew Crawford of Paris, Texas; Mr. Collin Osboum of College Station, Texas; Mr. Carey Allen, Mr.

Jeremy Moore, Mr. Joey Martin and Mr. Jeff Beheler, all of Houston, Texas. The ring bearer was Master Sterling Evans Jameson, cousin of the bride. Mr.

Jody Osbourn, of Cherokee, Texas, and Mr. Jeffrey Osboum, of Coleman, Texas, served as ushers. The groom, groomsmen and ring bearer wore formal black tuxedos. A reception and dinner followed the ceremony at Inman's Reception Room in Llano. The registry was attended by Mrs.

Tania Quigley of Dallas, Texas. The house party included: Mrs. Jenny Osbourn, of Coleman, Texas, Miss Kyndel Howell and Miss Krislie Howell of Valley Spring, Texas; Miss Tamara Edwards of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and Miss Paula Spencer of Abilene, Texas. Following a wedding trip to the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, the couple will live in Paris, Texas. The couple was honored with several showers and parties hosted by friends and family in both Paris and Llano.

The bride is a 1995 graduate of Texas University- College Station, and is employed by the Texas Agricultural Extension Service as a County Extension Agent, 4-H. The groom is a 1998 graduate of the University of Arkansas- Monticello, and is employed by the Paris Independent School District as a teacher and coach. Burks-Sherwood Saturday, October 16, 1999 at five o'clock in the evening, Addie Elisabeth Sherwood and Randy Kyle Burks were joined in Holy Matrimony. Their vows were exchanged in the presence of loving family and dear friends amidst the Gothic beauty of Paris Junior College's DeShong Chapel. Reverend Herbert Sherwood, grandfather of the bride, officiated the double ring ceremony.

Ben Dickin and Jarred Sulsar of Paris, escorted guests to their seats while a recorded musical prelude, arranged and presented by Edward Sherwood, brother of the bride, played Debussy's "Clair de Lune" from "Suite Bergamasque," Pachelbel's "Canon," Berlioz's "Trio for two flutes and harp" from "L'Enfance du Christ," Elgar's "Salut d'amour," Mouret's "Rondeau" and Debussy's "Reverie." Candle lighters, Kristin Boren and James Williams of Paris, solemnly lit the candles as Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" played in the background. Following the lighting of the candles, Anita Chupp and Lauren Corbell. friends of the bride, sang "The Rose" and "When I Fall in Love." Enya's "Watermark" played as the bridal attendants were escorted by the groomsmen down the aisle. Serving as maid of -honor was Kisha Porter of Tigertown. Bridal attendants included, Amanda Sherwood of Honey Grove, sister of the bride; Brandy Burks of Viewpoint, sister of the groom; Donna Starkey of Cottonwood, cousin of the bride; and Eva Easley of Paris, friend of the bride.

Nathan Garrison of Tigertown served as best man. Groomsmen were Randy Paul Burks of Viewpoint, father of the groom, Keith Cullum, Kenny Parker, and Steven Fields, all of Paris. The bride entered the chapel, and was tenderly escorted down the aisle by her father, John Dennis Sherwood, as Mrs. Gail Kennedy of Paris, violin soloist, performed the love theme from "Beauty and the Beast" by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman. Addie selected an off-tlie-shoulder style bridal gown.

The portrait collar was bordered by pearls. The bodice with drop- waistline was trimmed with lace applique and pearls. The full skirt of organza extended to a graceful chapel length train. Upon her crown of golden curls, she wore a silver tiara bedecked with austrian crystals and faux pearls. To complete her fairy-tale ensemble, she wore "glass" slippers on her feet.

Her elegant bouquet, created by Carol of Paris Florist, was composed of classic, red roses, baby's breath, English ivy, and graced with sheer white and red ribbons. Her bridesmaids wore short-sleeved dresses of burgundy satin. The empire waists which flowed into full skirts were embellished with satin bows encrusted with rhinestones in the center. To accent their dresses they wore burgundy satin slippers. Each bridesmaid also wore a silver tiara adorned with rhinestones upon a crown of curls.

The attendants carried a single, red long-stemmed rose backed by delicate tlumosa, and fastened with a sheer, white and red bow. The bride was given in marriage by her parents. After being pronounced husband and wife, the bridal procession withdrew from the chapel as Mrs. Gail Kennedy played Mendelssohn's "Wedding March" on the violin. Following the wedding, the newlywed couple was driven to their reception in a white limousine.

Within the gracious walls of the historic Wise House; a delightful celebration took place. After the tossing of the garter and the bouquet, the bride and groom left for their honeymoon trip to Jefferson, Texas as their guests blew a halo of bubbles over their heads. Other members of the house party included Miss Holly Porter at the registry; Mrs. Lisa Mayes and Cassie Mayes serving at the Bride's table; Adrienne Finley and Leslie Hewitt serving at the Groom's table. Several lovely showers were given for the couple.

Susan and Donna Starkey, aunt and cousin of the bride, gave a miscellaneous shower at the Forest Hill Community Center on October 7, 1999. Also, a personal shower was given by Brenda and Brandy Burks, mother and sister of the groom, and Amanda Sherwood, sister of the bride, at the Chisum High School on October 12, 1999. The groom's parents, Randy and Brenda Burks, hosted a delicious rehearsal dinner for the wedding party on Friday evening at Magel's Grill following the rehearsal. Addie is the daughter of John Dennis and Marilyn Sherwood of Honey Grove. She is the granddaughter of Herbert and Golda Sherwood of Honey Grove, Alan McPherson of Paris and the late Gloria McPherson.

She is the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Blanche L. Chetlain of Paris and the late Col. Frederick H. Chetlain.

Randy is the son of Randy Paul and Brenda Burks of Viewpoint. He is the grandson of D.R. and Betty Jo Burks of Viewpoint, the late Eddie and Betty McWhorter of LaPorte, and Carl and Carol Wade of Paris. The couple will make their home in Mesquite, Texas, where they are continuing their educations. I.
