OFHOMPAGEIB saying God let him kill Heller said THE 16 VICTIMS who have talked to police describe the rapist as: Anglo or Latin He has a slight Spanish accent police say it could be faked Any age from early 20s to mid-30s Anywhere from five-feet-two to five-feet-11-inches tall with a medium to heavy build All agree that his hair is dark He is usually clean shaven but a few times has worn a two-day growth of beard He is sober and does not appear to be under the influence of liquor or drugs He wears no jewel- ry and has access to various cars most several years old Police thought he might work at a service station but the women say there is no gasoline smell or any other distinguishable odor about him The cars he drives include: a dark 1968-70 Ford a white two-door Grand Prix a 1977 Impala a Ford Granada and a faded light blue Buick among others The last three times he struck: Saturday July 21 Sunday July 29 and Saturday Aug 4 he was at the wheel of a dark possibly brown Pontiac Grand Prix The car is not new has a tan interior and a bench type front seat SOMETIMES he forces the woman into his car and drives her to a secluded area where she is assaulted He trailed one woman from her job followed into her driveway and forced her into her own apartment where she was assaulted at gunpoint was sure she was going to killed Calvert said The rapist telephoned her at work the next night asking her to meet him Hysterical she hung up She quit the job and gave up her apartment Most victims are not robbed though he took money from one and inexplicably a license from another He accosted his first recorded victim at Coral Way and Greenway Drive on July 19 1977 There is an unexplained hiatus of 329 days followed The next case of which police are aware was reported on May 14 1978 There were three on that date two attempts and one successful attack usually keeps going until he rapes Calvert said Whole Wheat Honey Grahams Lechithin Powder 2S799 S4 os 1 lb sang Delicious plain or with butter and ieiiy 89 LOWER PRICES MORE VARIETY EVERYDAY MIGHT try 15 times before he gets someone to pull over" Heller said One frightened 17-year-old girl took and escaped when he pulled up beside her and pointed the gun Other reported attacks took place in July and September 1978 This time there was a gap of 259 days before he re-emerged The attacks began again with three in June four in July and one this month the pattern follows got another month to catch Calvert said The rapist may leave town for the winter or as police suspect he may work at a job in which he changes shifts and becomes a day worker during the months when no rapes are reported Calvert has compiled a profile of the man he is seeking He believes the rapist currently Works a late night shift where he has access to cars is married and probably has never been arrested for a sex offense He believes the gun is loaded and the man might use it SOME MEMBERS of tfae county's elite nine-detective rape squad have not had a day off in months Despite no increase in manpower since 1974 though their case load has tripled (200 rapes reported in 1974 with 656 in 1978) The squad closed 83 per cent of last cases and maintains a 70 per cent closure rate 25 to 30 per cent higher than the national average They want to close this case They stalked hunted and cruised hoping to catch the rapist in action this weekend Calvert said have either had a case unreported or going to hit He urges women motorists not to pull over when another motorist blinks his lights Real policemen use a red or blue flasher not headlights he said And he asks women who have not reported encounters with the Bird Road rapist to contact the rape squad at 547-7814 They do not have to prosecute or go to court he says already have enough victims who are willing to prosecute" he said we need is information We need to catch If Valuable GNC Coupon FREE Papaya Enzyme ft I 1 1 I fl S2 00 purchase I JL EXPIRES 9179 JJ.
