Melvin Tennant president and CEO of the Charlotte Convention Visitors Bureau was one of about 30 leaders in the travel and tourism industry who met last week with President Clinton at the White House Clinton seemed to have an understanding of the industry" Tennant said The meeting was a prelude to a tourism conference the administration will sponsor next year Tennant said a president has never
