Cotton has reached a higher point this season than at any time since 1872-3 Vhen it was 18.15. In 1873-4 it dropped off to 17 and has gradually declined until the price reached as Tow as 5.50. In 1889-90 it was 11.53, but since 1890-1; and 1891-2 the price has never reached 10 cents, until the-present crop, the highest mice being 9.03. This season (1903 crop) it has gone as high as 17.55 (a fraction over 17J) aboutlten days ago. Since then, however, there has been a break in the market, and yesterday (Wednesday) it was to 13.30.

This was a slight improvement oyer the market of a few days before it. having been as low as 12.80. These figures taken in connection with the table above referred to are worth A HOUSEHOLDNECESSITY.
