Associated Press SAN DIEGO Quarterback Dan Fouts continued his assault on National Football League passing records Saturday, and after setting a pair of all-time marks, he handed the credit to some unsung coworkers. "One man's not receiving enough credit, and that's Joe Gibbs, our offensive coordinator," said the San Diego Chargers' QB, who broke his own single-season mark with 4,407 yards passing so far this year and also broke the NFL mark for 300-yard games by surpassing that level for the seventh time. Fouts completed 28 of 42 passes for 339 yards to propel the Chargers to a 21-14 victory over Seattle and extend the Seahawks' losing streak to eight games. The victory left the Chargers 10-5 and improved their chances of repeating as AFC West champions. If the Chargers and Oakland Raiders wind up tied with 11-5 records at the end of the season, the tiebreaking procedure that will take effect will be net points in the division.

Oakland needs to beat Denver by 27 points today to catch San Diego in that department. The Chargers finish up the season a week from Monday against Pittsburgh, while Oakland travels to New York to meet the Giants a week from Sunday. "I think it's good that we play Pittsburgh on the last game of the season, so we can find out how good our football team really is," Chargers defensive tackle Louie Kelcher said.
