to life After a 38-yard kickoff return Willis broke loose on a 51 -yard run to the 1 Two plays later he dove in from the 1 to make it 38-30 with 8:20 to play On the second play after Rutgers kicked off Jamil Jackson recovered a fumble at the Blue 31 Two plays later Fortay fired a 36-yard scoring strike to Chris Brantley It was third touchdown catch of the game giving him 15 for his career a Rutgers record But the Scarlet Knights still trailed 38-36 with 7:41 remaining when Fortay was stopped short trying to run for the two-point conversion Duke came right back marching to the Rutgers 28 But on fourth-and-five with 3:45 to play Spence hurried pass fell incomplete and Rutgers took over on downs Rutgers sensing victory rolled up the field as Willis carried three times for 23 yards and caught a swing pass from Fortay and raced for another 23 With just 1:01 remaining Benestad completed the comeback by splitting the uprights from 38-yards Duke scored on three of its four first half possessions but still left the field at the intermission trailing 22-17 The Blue Devils took a 3-0 lead on a 24-yard field goal by Tom Cochran The Scarlet Knights took the ensuing kickoff and marched that good because going to get Furman coach Jimmy Satterfield said played great We had him defended and he scrambled around to make the big Davis engineered scoring drives on four of Georgia first five possessions including 90 yards on the first in which Dorsey Levens had runs of 21 and 20 yards and Davis had a 17-yard keeper and a 2-yard scoring run with 10 minutes 24 seconds left in the opening period He completed 14 of 19 passes for 191 yards The stars: Wolfpack quarterbacks Geoff Bender (159 yards passing) and Terry Harvey (187) both had splendid games The turning point: With 1 1 seconds left in the first half NC State wide receiver Eddie Goines was open down the right sideline and Bender hit him for a 55-yard touchdown The key stat: Goines set a school record for yards receiving with 207 yards on five catches Quote: "I just told my girlfriend how I just wanted to have 100 yards in a game" Goines said "But 200 yards I can't believe that" Worth mentioning: Harvey went
