Motorcyclist Takes Deputies On Wild Chase A young Soquel man led sheriff's deputies on a highspeed chase through the streets of Live Oak Sunday night before crashing his motorcycle near 38th Avenue and East Cliff Drive, according to reports today. Mark Clayton Walley, 20, 3240 Hardin Way, was cited by deputies for reckless driving and evading arrest. He was apprehended after the crash. The chase reached speeds of up to 80 mph and sent several motorists swerving off the road in order to avoid the young motorcyclist, said reports today. The chase began when a sheriff's deputy noticed that Walley had no license plates on his motorcycle, said officers.

The officer began to follow Walley, who sped up to 60 mph along Kinsley Street. The pursuit continued through apartment and shopping center parking lots at approximately 50 mph. The motorcyclist then turned onto East Cliff Drive where he sped up to 80 mph and caused two cars to go off the road in order to avoid him, said accounts today. The chase continued through streets in the Pleasure Point area, forcing more cars off the road. Two deputies set up a roadblock on Portola Drive near 41st Avenue but the motorcyclist managed to slip past them by driving through a liquor store parking lot.

Moments later, he lost Avenue and fell to the ground. scuffle with officers, said There were no injuries in Resource Center Workshops Begin The Child Development Resource Center has announced its winter spring workshop series for the fifth year, with programs on contemporary issues of family life and early childhood education.
