Klugh's proposed 1991-92 budget on Monday After a series of meetings and a May 14 public hearing the council will vote on the final budget May 21 Monday's dinner meeting runs from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the York County Office Complex on Heckle Boulevard in Rock Hill On Tuesday the council will meet at the office complex from 5:30 to 8:30 for a budget work session For details call Gene Klugh at 684-8511 Highway patrol ad wins national award A television advertisement from the SC Highway Patrol's "Highways or Dieways" campaign has been voted the nation's most outstanding public service announcement by the National Combined Accident Reduction Effort It was the second time in three years an ad from the SC campaign has been so honored by CARE which is made up of state law enforcement agencies from the United States Canada Puerto Rico Guam the Virgin Islands and American Samoa The "Rural Safety Belt" ad depicts a father and son traveling without safety belts It was chosen from 40 Gail McKinna-Dover York County Details on ex-treasurer's deals awaited Civil court session canceled YORK York County civil court scheduled for Monday has been canceled and jurors for that session shouldn't report for duty a court official said Thursday The jurors won't have to report for a later term said Clerk of Court MH Carroll Civil court set for May 6 will continue with jurors called for that week The civil court known as court of common pleas was canceled because a criminal case now being heard will continue through the week Carroll said Monday's jury pool included 75 people who were Organization for Women and other organizations will hold a rally in Columbia on Sunday to call for the defeat of a bill that would outlaw most abortions in the state As written the bill could also outlaw many forms of birth control according to rally organizers Speakers will include state Reps Holly Cork and Maggie Glover and Tech Sgt Nancy Parker a veteran of the Persian Gulf war Music will be provided by Danielle Howie Brent Cundy and the Restless Carrot The rally and concert will be from 1:30 to 4 pm on the Statehouse grounds facing Assembly and Gervais streets Those wanting to carpool to
