Gastonia Rangers pitcher Steve Rowley played the part of the thief Tuesday night at Sims Legion Park -Rowley stole center stage from Savannah pitcher Donovan Osbomennaking his South Atlantic League debut after the St Louis Cardinals made him their No 1 pick in the 1990 Osbometwas 'good but it was Rowley who earned rave reviews after Gastonia's 6-1 win Rowley (4-1) surrendered just five hits in eight inningsstriking out five and walking three He did not allow a run after the first inning and set down 12 ina row during one stretch "It was my best start of the year by far" Rowley- said "I threw strikes and that's been my biggest lproblem the last few games" Osborne (0-1) held the Rangers hitless through three innings but Gastonia Inade its firsthit a big one Donald Harris led off the bottom of the fourth with his first home run to tie the game' Barry Winford followed with a single and one out later Mike Burton clubbed his 14th homer-to give the Rangers a 3-1 advantage' "He was
