first season Nov I league chairman Michael Gobuty said in Bern Switzerland Gobuty also said East Berlin will have a franchise in the European division with him Let's hope however his new PR firm can get him to retreat to damage control center and stay there Fred Dula Charlotte CALENDAR It is obvious Carl Scheer either did not know George Shinn as well as he thought or he did not know him at all Loyalty is apparently not a word in Shinn's vocabulary: Look at the bodies strewn by the wayside His latest statement that Scheer "begged" him for his Hornets job is a knife in the back to Carl I could actually feel the knife going in myself Incredible Of all the people to try to degrade He gave the Hornets his heart and soul and clearly was the force that made the Hornets such an early success He was Shinn's most loyal supporter He became his greatest defender as some of Shinn's actions began to be questioned Scheer is one of the most genuinely nice persons anyone could want to know He gave the Hornets class they probably did not deserve As much as I hated to see him leave I know he is probably in a better situation in Denver As for George well I guess we'll have to live Too Much Umpiring I'm glad CBS did not get but 17 games for the baseball game of the week After listening to Tim McCarver and Jack Buck umpire the game between the Cubs and Pittsburgh last Saturday the league
