Natural History in New York City is the largest museum in the world, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. It has 23 acres of floor space in 19 interconnected buildings. PRCXTEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEDLANDS TO ANN-EX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNLVHABITED TERRTTORV DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "ANNEXATION DISTRICT No. 18," AND GIVING NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED ANNEXATION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS: SECTION ONE: That, pursuant to tbc provisions of the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939," proccetlings have been initiated by the CouncU of the City of Redlands. on its own motion, to annex to the City of Redlands all that uninhabited territory situated in the County of San Bernardino, State of California, hereby designated as "Annexation District No. 18" and described as follows: All that portion of Lots 2 and 3 in Block 1 of Henry L. WiUUms Tract, in County of San Bernardino, SUte of CaUfomia, as per plat recorded in Book 11 of Maps, page 17. records of said County, described as follows: Beslnnlng at the Intersection of the prolongation of the easterly line of said Lot 2 with the westerly prolongation of the northerly line of the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter. Section 21. TIS, R3W. S.B.B. & M. being a point in the west boundary of the City of Redlands; thence southerly alon^ said west boundary to the southeasterly comer of said Lot 2; thence northwesterly along the southerly fine of said Lots 2 and 3 to the southwesterly comer of said Lot 3. said southerly line being also the northerly line of SO-foot wide A.T. i S.F. R.R. right of way: thence northerly along the westerly line of said Lot 3 to an Intersection with the said westerly prolongation of the northerly lino of the SW quarter of the SW quarter. Section 31, TIS. B3W. S.B.B. Ac M; thence easterly along said prolongation to the point of beginning. SECTION TWO: That the City Council of the City ot Redlands desires to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Redlands for the following reasons: The territor>- is contiguous to the City of Redlands, and its proposed annctation will contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development uf both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed: will faciUUte and contribute to the proper and orderly layout, design and construction of streets, gutters, sidewalks, sanitary and storm water sewers and drainage facilities, both within the City and within the territory proposed to be annexed: and will provide and facUitate proper overall planning and zoning of lands, and subdivision of lands in said City and said uninhabited territorj'. in a manner most conducive to the welfare of said City and said uninhabited territory. SECTION THREE: That a written petition for annexation, signed by all property owners within the territory proposed to be annexed, is on file In the office of the City Clerk. SECTION FOUR: That the County Boundary Commission of San Bernardino County, California, did in session duly assembled cn January 9, 1964, approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said "Annexation No. 18" as above described and that it was approved by the Local Agency Commission at a regular meeting thereof held February 19, 1964, as submitted to said Commissions by the Council of the City of Redlands. SECTION FIVE: That March 17. 1964. at the hour of 7:00 p.m. In <he Council Chambers in the Safety HaU. 212 Brookside Avenue, in the City ot Redlands. County of San Bernardino, CaUfomia, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the City ot Redlands who does not also own property within the territory to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the Council of the City of Redlands and show cause why such uninhabited territory- should not be annexed to said City of Redlands. SECTION SIX: The City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at feast once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of Redlands. the city to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, said publication to complete at least four (4> days prior to the date set for hearing.
