base But with the aid of Sumter pitching he never had to break a trot Tuesday Cronk hit one home run walked four times and scored three runs in the Rangers' 11-5 baseball victory over Sumter Cronk's homer a solo blast in the fourth inning was his sixth in the last week He is tied for first in home runs (19) in the Class A South Atlantic League "I guess it takes a while to get used to the wooden bats" said Cronk who hit just three homers in 62 games in his rookie season last year "I lifted a lot of weights in the off season and got stronger I'd always hoped to hit this many homers but I wasn't sure I could after struggling last year" Cronk homered in the fourth inning to give Gastonia a 2-1 lead He walked in the second sixth seventh and eighth innings "I haven't seen anything inside
