D-4- THE SUN May 3, 1979 Jacson, Bennett get Shrine team starts ba playoffs a standings Pasadena, Ed Gatlin (215) of Palisades and Bruce Matthews (245) of Arcadia. Linebackers are Mike Dattola (195) of Temple City, Jay Fairman (205) of Los Altos and Mike Maurer (205) of Woodland Hills. Backs are Gary Bronson (170) of Temple City, John Garner (195) of Culver City, Ron Stivers (165) of West Covina and Billy Ward (195) of St. Francis in La Canada. The kicker is Mike Black (185) of Glendale.

North quarterbacks are John Elway (180) of Granada Hills (19 TD passes) and Tom Ramsey (180) of Kennedy in Granada Hills (14 TDs). Robert Mc-Clanahan (195) of San Fernando (12 TDs) is the fullback. On defense, the ends are Fred Cornwell (230) of Canyon and Kerry Ford (207) of Culver City; the linemen, Ernie Carrasco (220) of Channel Islands, David Chase (215) of ada Hills, who also caught 13 TD passes. Tight end will be Malcolm Moore (210) of San Fernando, who also had 13 TD catches. Offensive tackles are Ken Cunz (233) of San Marino, Jim Hearn (220) of Simi Valley and Rich Stachowski (225) of Burbank.

Guards are Chris Pascale (220) of Loyola and Mike Ramirez (212) of L.A. Wilson. Running backs are James Moh'r (185) of Arcadia (21 TDs) and Romono Robinson (185) of Pacific Palisades (21 TDs). Marvin Williams of Col-ton, the CIF's leading scorer, wasn't considered since he's already enrolled at USC. Center Steve Jacson of Fontana High School and wide receiver Scott Bennett of Chaffey were San Bernardino County's lone selections on the North squad for the 28th annual Shrine All-Star Football Classic July 21.

Both were all-CIF 4A picks as well as unanimous all-Citrus Belt League selections. The 6-foot-2 Jacson weighs 228 and can also play defensive line. The 6-1, 185-pound Bennett scored a school-record 13 touchdowns via passes and also is one of the top long jumpers in San Bernardino County.
