.1. 1'. Ilcv. J. Witt, a former pastor of the Central Christian church in this city, but for a number of years living at Kansas City, died in that city the other day very suddenly, lie hail many friends in Parsons who will be sorry to learn of his death.

The deceased was the first pastor of the Central Christian church, which was the outgrowth of a division in the Christian society in l'lirsons, and he aided In placing the new church upon a good foundation. For several years past, he has not been following the ministry. The Tollce Court. Tho ease against Crunk Wagoner, charged with being the keeper of a gambling house, was heard in the police court yesterday. Wagoner was found guilty and fined fifty dollars and costs, the whole amounting to sixty- one dollars.

The ease against Dan Stauter, also arrested on the charge of keeping a gambling house, which Mas set for trial yesterday, was continued until next owing to sickness in the family of Judge King which neiessi-tated his presence at home, Th Fute of the llemler.
