Constable Helmslng was for five years stationed at Alert Bay before enlisting for service in the naval patrol service overseas. Members of the local branch of the Salvation Army will regret that Adjutant Habkirk, for three years officer in charge of the social work of the Army in Vancouver, is leaving the city.

The adjutant has accepted the position of officer in charge of Indian work at Wrangell, Alaska, and leaves at the end of the present month. His term of office there will be three years. Prior to coming to this city. Adjutant Habkirk was stationed at Toronto, where he was engaged In social work, and in which city he made a host of friends who will join with his newer Vancouver friends in wishing him God speed and good health in his new sphere of labor. A man of unusually broad mind, the officer counts his friends among all the walks of life in the city, having a cheery word for all and a manner which has endeared him to all who have had the pleasure of his acquaintance and advice.
