She calls and he comes whistling from the next room "Ask him" she says "Those involvements which don't take her away from home are perfectly all right" he says I with a grin "providing they don't encroach on my I time meaning evenings holidays Saturdays and Sundays During the day I have my own activities" His activities she says include playing devil's advocate on her issues He demurs "I wouldn't go so far as to say that She always has the Utopian approach I have the realistic viewpoint What's important is that she gets that viewpoint" Their social activities are contained almost entirely within the boundaries of Point East they explain There are formal parties and bridge and dancing and casual drop-in visits with neighbors Then there are their three children and eight grandchildren Kay 32 lives in nearby Plantation Annette 38 and Allen 36 both live in Chicago The senior Ackermans thought for awhile after his retirement that they'd live half of every year in Chicago themselves It was an idea they quickly abandoned "We worried about our property there the damage it might suffer while we were gone in winter" he says "And we found that our friends there have their own lives their own social functions and it was difficult to relate when we were there for only a short time" 1 "You have to sink roots wherever you are" she ihterjects "And there is no question we have sunk roots here This is our home now" Mr TROPIC May191974 EMI' Inc 1974 SPECIR rel KOSHER Empire TEitigg POULTRY tsLefes 711J St?
