Hes turning them out two a week before live audiences in the Adelphi Theater here. Hes using Du Monts new electronicam TV-film system, a method which he said delights him because.it combines films of (he highest quality with amazing speed of production. It'S sensational, Gleason says.

Our results already arc so good that I'm sure 'electroni- 4am' will revolutionixe our whole epproech to simultaneous telecasting and motion picture film. If you have an honest performance with honest laughs, 'electronicam' is the only way to record it. We're really getting what we went after; 'live-on-film'." By the end of next January hell have 39 of The Honeymooned series in the can, Gleason says, adding: That leaves me free till next August to do some other things I want to. What sort of things? Well, about tht first of March Im starting to make a motion picture. Elia Kazan is directing it and Budd Schulberg is writing it.

The prize for the big networks ABC, CBS, NBC is, as always, the largest viewing audience.

One of the hottest programing spots is the weekend evenings, Saturday and Sunday. The Saturday night NBC target is Jackie Gleason on CBS, who will be riding the 8 to 9 p.m. Eastern time spot beginning Oct. 1. In an effort to cut Gleason off at the draw, NBC has snapped up a $100,000 payoff shot for 7:30 p.m.

At 8 p.m. NBC swings into a full-hour Perry Como musical. Insiders say the Como show urn doubtedly wont drop at 8:30 in an effort to prevent viewers from making that twist of the dial to Gleason on CBS when he begins The Honeymooners segment of his shows. George Gobel returns to NBC at 10 p.m. But CBS is not taking Gobel lying down any more than NBC ia taking Gleason lying down.

Opposite Gobel it plans once-a-month big color shows with such drawing cards as Judy Garland, Mary Martin, Noel Coward, Bing Crosby. In that Saturday p.m spot ABC is loping with Ozark Jubilee, interspersed every four weeks, beginning Oct. 15, with a televised version of radios popular Grand 01 Opery. On Sunday evening Ed Sullivan works his 8 p.m. spot over CBS.
