on matchiqg racing and retailing The speedway has begun construction of a retail pavilion called the First Turn Mall With brick floors and ceramic-tile walls the retail center "will look like an Eastland or a South Park mall" saidWes Harris vice president for speedway development and operation Located under the condominiums completed last May the retail center is expected to cost around $2 million including a restroom and seating expansion Mr Harris said The first phase costing $500000 and measuring 15000 square feet is planned for completion by May It will contain concession and souvenir sales counters and specialty food booths' The speedway doesn't have details on the second phase yet Mr Harris said But it could start as soon as May and is planned to have specialty shops possibly including a clothing outlet store 24- hour variety store and department stores Charlotte Motor Speedway which made trackside condomin iums a reality is working on matchlug racing and
