"I'm fighting the No.l ranked heavyweight in the world. He is the most glamorous heavyweight in the world." The moves left the Rams with 43 players on their active roster, two below the allowable maximum of 45.

A spokesman for the team said two players will be activated later this week. Cardinals Free safety Ken Greene, suffering partially torn ligaments in his right knee, became the eighth St. Louis Cardinal to go on the injured reserve list this season, the National Football League club said Wednesday. The Cardinals said starting cornerback Tim Collier is definitely out of this weekend's game at Baltimore because of a leg injury. Guard Rod Coder also is out with a knee injury.

By The Associated Press SAN FRANCISCO The San Francisco 49ers' defensive troubles continued Wednesday when it was announced that cornerback Gerard Williams, who was to be re-acquired, was signed instead by the St. Louis Cardinals. Williams, a veteran who plaved with the 49ers in 1979. was waived prior to this season. The 49ers said Tuesday they were signing him to fill a roster vacancy, but first he had to clear waivers with other teams in the National Football League, and the Cardinals grabbed him.

The Browns today would make no comment on White's punishment or fine.

White called the Browns' offices at 9:30 a m. Wednesday to say he had overslept and would be late for the team meeting. "But he never did show up, and I haven't heard from him yet," said Rutigliano.
