The Guilford boys play a good clean game, and make but few errors. Malone's pitching was a feature, permitting but three hiU and only one of those clean. Among those who looked on the game Saturday was Clark'Uenden-hall, of Deep River, who used to play with the Guilford team when the "game of our daddies' was ia vogue. Prof. M.

H. Holt spent part of last week the North Carolina school for the deaf at Merganton, of which school he is and has been since its founding, one of the board of directors. (. The weather continues so wet and cold that little has been done in oat sowing, gardening, or in preparing for corn and tobacco in this part of the country. Our farmers are much discouraged!
