and is situated in the vicinity of Taos NM Here they sleep eat and work together without regard to family units and relationships There are about 50 of them in thcir late teens or early 20's and they appear at least on TV visiting day to be hitting it off TI IE CAMERA caught them lounging about playing cards listening to the music of a harmonica just being as a philosophical friend of mine is given to saying as he sits marinating in his scotch The second commune visited was one in Cambridge Mass in which the members tend to live in the nude It is a matter of wonderment and dismay one of them told ABC's interviewer that their neighbors are entirely unfriendly The network cameramen took no chances in this case He kept his lens firmly fixed at chest level and above TI IE LAST COMMUNE visited was a religiously oriented one in Massachusetts' Berkshire Mountains They live fully clothed and spend much of their time in contemplation The camera was present for one of these sessions in which everybody hummed "Om" in unison to provoke deeper mystical insight There is an ingenuous quality a childlike gentleness and sincerity in all these young commune dwellers Even if their utopian attempts fail as similar attempts failed in the last century it is hard not to wish them luck PRODUCER Boyajian had only a half hour to develop his survey and that wasn't enough time to get deep into
