her I love her and I want my family back I was selfish and now I know it Please Honey come home My life is falling apart FALLING APART Introduce Every Candidate To Public Dear Personal Chat: I have a suggestion I know some of the TV stations have given time for candidates for political office to be seen and heard on the air but I think it would be good if the newspapers had a special section one day introducing all the people running for the various offices I don't mean paid political announcements but little articles giving the fads about a person's background and announcing his platform Tell us what issues he is fighting for There are so many people running for offices who can't really afford the publicity that some of the others can And how are we to know that these guys are not just as qualified as those who can pay for billboards and TV time? Like I said it's just a suggestion but I'd like to see it happen JUST SUGGESTING 'Never Lock Small Kids In Hot Dear Personal Chat: This is a note to the mother who left her two small girls closed up in a green Plymouth Duster They were locked in the car with all indows closed tightly and they had their seat belts on It was during the noon hour this past Monday and the car was in front of a fabric shop on South Blvd The poor girls had cried until their faces were wet I was going to open the door for them to get a breath of air but they couldn't be opened I realize patience gets thin when shopping with children but cruelty is not the answer In the heat like we had Monday a child could die in a hot car like that! Please consider this next time MOTHER OF FOUR Anonymous Writer Creates Doubts Dear FAVORS TRUTH I think you're right Sending anonymous letters to people and telling them lies about someone is a dirty thing to do I'm not sure of the best way to stop these people If you kiow the authors of the letters I suggest you confront them with what they're doing and learn the reason wh If a person is going to attack someone else the only fair way to do so is to let people know who you are and why you're spreading stories But you could look at it this way FAVORS TRUTH who's going to believe a story started by someone too weak and chicken-hearted to even give his name? You must admit that does create a credibility gap SHOW ME PROOF for the most part invisible It is up to the cyclist to look out after himself you've always gotta know exactly where you are and what's around you" For the serious cyclist there is a lot more to it than just leaping on the bicycle and riding off so mew here MOST OF the people in the Tarheels club are interested in bicycle touring and to do it properly Bowers says a few small investments can pay off in a lot of comfort later For instance he said the Five Facing Drug Counts Four Charlotte residents and a Gastonia man were arrested an dcharged with drug offenses yesterday police said James Everette Kiser 24 of Gastonia was arrested at 1:15 pm in a supermarket parking lot at 3504 Wilkinson Blvd and charged with possession of marijuana His bond was set at $200 Craig Anthony Blackwell 23 of 3649 Bahama Dr was arrested about 1:40 pm in the 3400 block of Monroe Rd police said Blackwell was charged with possession of heroin cocaine and marijuana He also was charged with possession of a needle and syringe His bond was set at $5000 Katherine Marie Sellers 20 Stephen Ne'son Sellers 19 and Guy Donald Arthur 22 all of 2617 Vail Ave were arrested in their apartment at 11:50 pm police said Arthur was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute His bond was set at $3000 Sellers and Miss Sellers were charged with felonious possession of marijuana His bond was set at $3000 and her bond was set at $2000 Retarded Get Home Care A new in-home care facility for menUHy retarded young adults the first of its kind in Mecklenburg County will be dedicated in ceremonies at 2:30 pm Sunday The in-home program began operating March 15 in a house at 1631 Fountain View near Charlotte Memorial Hospital and the ceremonies will take place on the front porch of the house Several county commissioners and county mental health officials are expected to make brief remarks The public is invited to attend and to tour the house said Mrs Dot Gibson Mecklenburg County coordinator for a 1 retardation services Four women ranging in ages from 20 lo 23 live at the home under the supervision of the resident houseparents Mr and Mrs James Duncan Then in-bome care concept is an attempt to "deinstitutionalize" care for the mentally handicapped and to integrate retarded young adults into the community Mrs Gibson said The facility is operated by Charlotte Rehabilitation Homes Inc a private nonprofit community organization Money to lease and redecorate he house came from 10000 allocated by county commissioners last November Charge Dropped Against Socialist Charges of using a loudspeaker without a permit filed against Marion Porter a US Labor Party candidate for the School Board were dropped with the option to reopen the case later in District Court Tuesday The Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Office dropped the charges against Mrs Porter who was charged last Tuesday with Using a loudspeaker at the Brookhill Apartments in South Charlotte Also in District Court Tuesday charges of disrupting a School Board meeting last week against Mrs Porter and two othe omen were dropped Epileptic Youth's Body Recovered RALEIGH iTi The body of a missing epileptic youth was pulled from Crabtree Creek here yesterday ending a massive search for Michael Ivorv The 15-yar-old youth disdp-peared Tuesday evening and touched olf a search that in cluded members of the Rale ah po'ke and fire dpan-j ments Wildlife Resource Comin ssion personnel a High- i way Patrol hr'icoptcr and friends and relatives lifiiu lawn Rd thinks a tremendous shortage exists and that ii is the result of "a lot of chlorine that went lo Vietnam during the war" "THK SHORTAGE can he attfbuted to increased demand no new plant construction increased use of chlorine in plastic manufacturing and a conservation efforts wh ch have hindered the oper-tion of some plants" said Pomeis of Jones Chemicals Katehie of Moreland Chemical said the energy crisis and the ecology are both helping create a chlorine shortage 'The ecologists are shutting down several chlorine plants because of pollution" he said "These undue demands to curb pollution could be dune over a period of time say five years but not overnight" said Katehie Sears of Allied Chemical noted that increased use of chlorine in water and sewerage treatment facilities is another reason for a slight shortage What are tfie dangers of using a pool not treated with chlorine? "It's against the law" said Edward Smith pool inspector for the Mecklenburg Health Department There is a state requirement that says between four-tenths of a pound and one pound of chlorine must exist
