creeping up on us this year positively erupting After a summer deeper in torpor than usual (at least the political conventions kept things hopping last year) the networks start next week to brandish their new program weaponry with vigor Re-runs of old established shows will come to a crashing halt as these returning series begin to air new episodes Perhaps when the first flush of newness has ebbed away viewers may find the upcoming season the same old jazz But I recall a season introduced with more ruffles and flourishes than this one is THE Sunday TV Preview magazine will give its readers a break-down on to come in prime evening time a complete chart of evening programs of all the local stations There are pictures in color and black and white of new and returning personalities and other information to keep viewers abreast of fall and winter programming Next week will be premiere period But ABC will introduce several of its new entries too then join CBS in premiering the bulk of the new programming the week following THE STATION is picking up daytime serial Dark Shadows and giving it a prime evening time exposure at 7 Monday through Friday and the new weekly satire Love American Style scheduling it for 10 Monday nights Both shows premiere Sept 29 Although Dark Shadows is still on the schedule of Palm Channel 12 it was dropped some months ago by Miami affiliate Channel 10 The Miami station has also elected to give up Love American Style because of conflicts with its own weekly movie Channel 23 got two major shows from NBC the weekly Monday night movie and its western High Chaparral The station will take the movie live off the cable at 9 starting Monday night It will air High Chaparral also at its network time at 7:30 Friday night starting next week only outlet for the two shows had been Palm Channel 5 Its Miami affiliate Channel 7 carried High Chaparral for some time and passing up the movie series to carry the new syndicated Barbara McNair Show
