MEINRAD (UPI) St. Meinrad College has announced the winners of seven scholarships offered to members of the freshman class. Academic Dean Damian Schmelz said three $1,000 awards went to Eric Fitch and Joel Shiffler of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Toledo and Stephen Voyt of the Diocese of Arlington, Va. Four $500 scholarships were awarded to Vincent Sansone of the Diocese of Richmond, Jeffrey Klinger of the Diocese of Evansville, Charles Brumleve of the Diocese of Indianapolis and Gary Public officials are invited to labor workshop INDIANAPOLIS Relations in Local a two-day training program designed to provide public officials with the knowledge and skills to operate effectively and efficiently in public sector labor relations, will be conducted Nov. 1-2 in Jasper.

The workshop will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day, at the Holiday Inn. by the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns, in cooperation with the Midwest Center for Public Sector Labor Relations in the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs, the workshop will utilize a training package, including four films, developed by the Midwest Labor Center to meet the needs of local government officials in Indiana. Stressed in the four-part training program are unfair labor practices, collective bargaining, finding, and grievances issues that will confront public officials in their dealings with a public employee organization.

Similar workshojx; are planned in Kokomo, on Nov. 8-9; Indianapolis, Nov. 15-16, and LaPorte, Nov. 29-30 The workshops are made possible by a grant from Lilly Endowment, Inc. of Indianapolis.

There are no registration fees or other costs for training materials. Registration will be limited to 25 participants in each workshop. Applications should be sent to C.
