ARM THEM! EXCITE THEM! and Robert Aldrich assembled for their mission The plot is no boy-meets-girl trivia It concerns Operation Amnesty a fictional but thoroughly believable dramatic premise that a -dozen soldiers faced with hanging 'or long prison sentences for capital crimes would be willing to for a suicide mission which would grant the amnesty or death The mission the wiping out of high echelon Nazi officers in a raid on a headquarters provides the shocking climax The meat of the movie however is the drama involved in Lee and training designed to make the troublemakers even more troublesome and at the same time develop in them the esprit de corps that even social rejects need to work together It is another magnificent performance by Marvin Among his men are Telly Savalas Jim Brown Gint Walker Charles Bronson John Cassavetes Donald Sutherland Trini Lopez and A1 Mancini Every one is a scene-stealer at one moment or another in the absorbing story of how they are whipped into shape against the opposition of Ryan as a stuffy colonel is the meatier characterization a sadistic killer but Brown Cassavetes Bronson and Walker give him a fine run for honors as does newcomer Donald Sutherland as a hillbilly oaf Richard Jaekel and Robert Phillips as military policemen George Kennedy as a considerate 1 a r-soldier and Ralph Meeker are others who contribute memorable When Films Begin These schedules are published iVoo A KUVj 8 TRER TURR THEM IOOSE OR THE RAZS!
