(Ch 7) today becomes first all-color equipped television station Sidney Ansin president and chairman of the board of Sunbeam Television Corp owner of the station announced Sunday installation has been completed on a half-million dollar color installation that includes three color cameras The new equipment will enable Channel 7 to be the first station in the area to originate color programming The premiere tint job will be done on its news weather and sports program at 6 tonight The acquisition of color cameras was the final step in the going all-tint Almost all the rest of the color equipment had been Installed and in use for several months not only at WCKT but WTVJ (Ch 4) an WLBW-TV (Ch 10) The latter stations also All colors shows of course can be received in black and white as usual by viewers with non-color sets 4 For more than a month a the cameras and related equipment particularly new i studio lighting have been in progress Ansin reported The Installation included equipping the news depart- nient with new sound repro- -duction photographic equip- nient and special portable lights for filming news events In color Still under way is the in- -stallation of a laboratory facility been hesitant in coming here unless local color equipment'1 could be used A network color show such Perry Como's or Ed 1 wanting to ori- ginate from Miami Beach either had to bring its own color
