Alford Route 3, Brownwood. were honored with an open house Christmas day at their home in observance of their 35th wedding anniversary. Hosts for the occasion were their children. Mr. and Mrs.

Hollis W. Alford of Midland; Mr. and Mrs. Roy C. Alford of Odessa; Mr.

and Mrs. E. C. Alford Jr. of Mendenhall, England.

and Douglas Alford of Brownwood. Guests were greeted at the door by Roy and Hollis Alford. and alternating at the register were Shirley Early and Monette Sawyer. The tea table was laid with a white damask cloth and centered with an arrangement of gladioli. flanked by red candles in silver holders.

Decorated cake squares and coffee were served to approximately 50 guests who called during the afternoon. I Assisting at the table were C. S. Coleman. Mrs.

She wore an original model pown of French lace and duclics- satin in a rich shade of ivory designed with a portrait neckline outlined with applique of escalloped lace. The fitted bodice u.is fashioned with long thr.t came to points over the hand 1 and terminated with a deep point at the center front waistline. From this, stemmed a circular satin skirt escalloped with lace panels at the front cascading over the hipline and graduating to a full length panel at tho hack that swept into a long graceful train. Her fingertip double Illusion veil was caught to a crown of iridescent sequins and seed pearls and she carried a white orchid arranged with shredded carnation 1 MfpiiiiiiuUs. Mrs.

Lynn Hanson of Corpus Christi was matron of honor. Miss Nancy Stuart was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Shirley Kee. Mrs. Billy and Miss Mary Anderson of San Angelo. The bridal attendants wore identically designed dresses in soft shades of turquoise velveteen and tulle over taffeta fashioned portrait necklines outlined with a drapery' of fabric that extended into small sleeves.

The fitted bodices were styled on princess lines ending with long' torso waistlines. Joining these were voluminous carpet length skirts of shirred tulle worn over suffered taffeta and crinoline to fullness. The match- ins headdresses were of turquoise velvet accented with shirred net and rhinestones. Each attendant carried a single American Beauty rose with a silver gilded stt'in. Miss Frances Meyers of Snyder.

niece of the hnde. carried a basket of American Beauty roses and attended as flower girl. Ring bearer was Richard May of Haw River. X. and Robert of and Henry May.

all nephews of bride, were candle lighters. The bridegroom's father attended him as best man. Groomsmen were Lt. Craig Woodson of Houston, and Jack Woodson of Hrownwood. both brothers of the bridegroom.

Don McGraw of Abilene, and Keese Anderson of Houston. Ushers were Jimmy Kills and Bob Hutchison, both of lirownwood, George Davis of Killeen, and Dick Henz of Houston. Mi's. Richardson chose for her daughter's wedding an original rose beige gown of lace over taffeta with accessories of rose beige satin. Mrs.

Woodson, mother of (he bridegroom, wore a street-length dress of brandy shade satin with contrasting brown accessories. Af the reception which followed in Fellowship Hall of the church, the table was laid with a white linen cutwork cloth and was centered with an arrangement of white stock and red roses. Silver appointments completed the setting. Assisting with hospitalities were Mines. V.

Rogers, V. V. Strahan. Nelson. Ceremony Crawley, Abe Holder, and Devvey Massingale alternated at the refreshment table, and Miss Shirley Jones and Miss Donna Jo Alexander registered the guests.

After a wedding trip to the Oulf of Mexico, the couple will he at home at 3009 Speedway in Austin. For travel the bride wore a black gabardine suit fashioned with rounding pockets that ex- I ended from the front to side hack and a Peter Pan collar accented by rhineslone clips and a white ascot. She wore a tiny while beaver hat encrusted with iridescent sequins and rhinestones and black and white accessories and a white orchid corsage. Mrs. Woodson is a graduate of Lamesa High School and is now attending the University of Texas where she is a junior majoring in radio and television.

She is a member and president of the Speech Club there, vice-president of Alpha Chi Omega, Air Force ROTC sponsor, and was named one of ten Texas beauties. She was also finalist in hot)) the Blue Bonnet Belle Contest and Miss Engineer of Texas University. The bridegroom, after completing high school in Browmvood, entered Texas University where he is a Junior majoring in business urep1I. TU. 2.
