Page Al4 SAN FRANCISCO (AP) Seven times police officers unknowingly questioned and released the four men now held in connection with the Zebra murders a grand jury transcript shows One of the stops was made while a murder allegedly was in progress and the victim might have escaped had she not made a gallant attempt to save her husband the record shows The key informant in the case his wife and his child all live under a purported death threat by the "Death Angels" whom Mayor Joseph Alioto blames for 73 vicious slayings in Calif or-Ma These are some of the disclosures in a 203-page transcript of the Zebra grand jury investigation released this week Testimony before the grand jury primarily that of informant Anthony Harris 28 has led to indictments for Jessie Cooks Simon Larry Green and Manuel Moore They are charged in three of the Zebra murders Thirteen persons have been killed and seven others wounded in the random attacks by blacks on whites since last October police say Harris told the grand jury the "Death Angels" number about 2000 all dedicated to the killings of whites Higher rank is attained by mutilation and decapitation of victims he said Harris detailed the kidnaping and beheading of newswoman Quita Hague and the wounding of her husband Richard last Oct 20 He said that Larry Green and Jessie Cooks put a gun in Richard Hague's back near the couple's home here and marched him toward their white Dodge van Mrs Hague started to run away and Harris said he yelled at her to "keep on running" But as the two men hustled Hague into the van he said Mrs Hague ran back to the vehicle and let the air out of one of the tires OLYMPIA Wash (AP) The Washington Supreme Court upheld today a jury verdict stating there was no wrongdoing involved in a fee sharing arrangement between San Francisco Mayor Joseph Alioto and former state Atty Gen John O'Connell In a 6 to 3 verdict the high Court ruled that an attorney cannot be compelled to forfeit a reasonable fee by pmviding services to a client regardless of whether the client had knowledge of its being shared with other counsel The state filed the oriabi- nal civil suit charging that Alito and O'Connell and former O'Connell aide George Faler automatically forfeited the fee because of the sharing arrangement THE SACRAMENTO BEE Thursday June 13 1974 ENE SHAVERS IN Nimble SO CLOSE IT CARES 10 MATCH SHAVES WITH A BLADE!
