The first parade of the old corps was held in the Imperial opera House, on Pender street. Gunner Stuart is row Lieut. Stuart, brigadier of the 2iir4 in'oMry hrisnde. The old Imperial Opera House, erected 'bv Mr. Crlckmay In 1 f0, which occupied the site of what is now the Duncan buildincr, opposite The World building, was the ene 0f many stirrin? and interesting incidents in ie early days of the garrison artillery and following lis transition to a rifle regiment.

For a time the garrison's sole and oniy "artillery" consisted of one of the two obsolete muzzle loaders which stand as silent sentlnuls just outside the present drill hall on Beat tie street. Later on, another was sent over from Ks'tulmalt. Trie second one was considered too much of a. weight for the floor of tae old Imperial, eo a tomporary gun shed was built for it across the street from the Imperial and on the site of what is now the lofty World building. This enabled two g.in crews to work at once in practice on the even then obsolete wenixins.

The Sixth regiment, D. C. O. sprang no from the old hrigode. And many members of the Sixth are now in awaiting the opportunity to add glory to the old regiment.

Mr. C. "I look for a very large increase In traffic this spring up to Prince Kupert," Mr.

Jenney said. "Large numbers of tourists who will travel to the I'anama l'aeifio exposition will travel over the Grand Trunk Pacific to Prin Rupert, through a new country. The scenery, particularly that around Mount Pobson, will prove attractive if advanced bookings are any indication. "Furthermore, our new rate on our steamers to Prince Kupert, whi rehy passengers get hrt hs and meal for the price of transportation, will induce many to make this prettiest of all coasting trips. Traffic on the steamers has already increased and prospects for a good season's travel are bright." MRS.
