Staff Writer A local bus company is suing the Charlotte Clippers for seven long rides the hockey players took and apparently didn't pay for This poses an interesting problem because the players themselves now belong to the city of Charlotte Former Clippers owner Charlie Rock of Baltimore Md owns all other assets But apparently Rock and not Charlotte will be expected to pay The suit filed Thursday in the Mecklenburg Superior Court was instituted by Queen City Coach Lines Inc It asks for $569360 plus inter-es' for seven round-trip rides the Clippers took last winter It was filed against "The Char lotte Clippers a Maryland corperation" The trips include two to Clin ton at costs of $89980 and $104170 two to Johns town Pa at costs of $53460 and $58025 two to New Haven Conn at costs of $87230 and $759 and another trip to Clinton at a cost of $100595 Some local lawyers thought Thursday that Rock and not Charlotte would be the defendant When his deal with the city was closed Monday Acres By JOE POSTER Observer Staff Writer Charlote will put its first money into slum clearance from its 196061 budget City Manager William Veed er has included $120500 from current revenue in the budget for the coming fiscal year That amount is about third of $363000 in cash the city is expected to put into the first phase of redeveloping the 238 acre Brooklyn slum area first phase or Project One cow ers eight acres The city's total share in eluding about $274000 worth of improvements to streets sewers and water expented to be about $637000 for Project One The federal government will put in twice as much as the city or $I274000 for the Brook lyn project The $120500 in the 1960-81 bud get is the first money the city has had to spend since program got under way here Federal grants and
