Chas. Allred, of near Grays Chapel was lodged in jail here Monday charged with killing his step father, Luther Wilkerson. It is alleged that last Saturday Wilkerson was drinking as usual and with gun in hand chased young Allred who is only 18 years old, threatening to kill him and in self defense, Allred cut Wilkerson's throat with a knife. Wilkerson was taken to St. Leo's hospital, Greensboro where he dir-d Sunday, and Monsday Allred was committed to jail by Justice Pugh.
