Plans Expansion old slate He admitted that for the first few days of the trusteeship he allowed them to car-ry on as business agents of the union IV ANOTHER surprise move the names of some 600 more Local 71 members were added to the legal papers as parties of the plaintiff This makes them party to the original legal action asking for a restraining order against Teamsters International and the old slate of officers The case dragged in the early part of the hearing yesterday and by noon only Ed Hill the Barbee slate's apparent choice for business agent had testified Witnesses for the plaintiffs included Mrs Fortenberry tormer head of the county-board of elections who can the Teamsters election under Mr Pearson Several of her assistants at the election also testified along with several Teamster membets During the April 11 to June 12 period the bill says Noe received some $1300 from James Pressley and Leonard Giles subordinate employes in the Motor Transport department That city unit is charged with garbage collection street cleaning and operation of city dumps Noe is specifically chaiged with embezzling $653 THE KILL SETS out the six deposit dates as specific "dates on or between which the defendant i Noe i willfully or corruptly used misapplied property of monies "The de fe ndant allegedly misapplied other amounts to his personal the bill says Deposits listed as made in Noe's account at Wachovia bank are: June 15 11 $80 March 12 1962 $75 April 10 $50 and $10 April 14 $40 and May 9 $25 Noe was charged last October after a Superior Court jury acquited Pressley on a similar charge Noe who had taken a job in Atlanta was arrested on a bench warrant issued by Superior Court Judge McLean That action came after Noe testified in the Pressley case Pressley later was reinstated by the city Continued From 2nd Front yesterday's lengthy hearings but there were some surprises For one thing Pearson the man who was hired by the old Local 71 officers to run the election last month was nut of town and couldn't he found for subpoena For another thing lawyers for the defense strongly implied that Grady Honeycutt the newly elected secretary treasurer of Local 71 was a spv nlanted by Teamsters International The plaintiffs implied that every move they had planned against the Teamsters International and the old Hargett slate of officers had been passed on to the opposition by Mr Honeycutt Mr Honeycutt denied the implied charges He said he refused to take over the office of secretary treasurer however 'until a complete audit had been made Albert Dietrich Teamster International tioubleshooter who is i acting as the agent in the local matter charged from the stand that the financial matters of the local are in bad shape and said he would no longer entrust dealings of the union to Ed Hargett John Wilson Guv Alexander and others of the coffee and will be the first such facility of its type here Mr Goodyear said the addition is made necessary by the continued expansion of his company Some company offices are now on the second floor and will be moved to the first in the new structure The building is the second large project to be announced for Morehead St this month The Vinson Realty Co will erect a two-story office building for the Service Bureau Corp on Morehead near the intersection of Kenilworth Corp has arranged financing of the
