We regret very much to have Mr. Amick leave us. Mr. Charlie Soots and Miss Lil lie Neese were married Sunday, February 17. May a long and happy life be theirs.

Miss Nelia Miller quit the mil) Monday and left for her home in Liberty. She has won many friends during her stay here. Rev. G. F.

Milloway and son, Clement, bf Burlington, ware here one night last week. Mr. Millo way's many friends were glad to see him. Jamestown Items. We have been having quite a variety of weather the past few weeks.

The wheat crop is badly damaged by the fly in this community. There was quite an interesting spelling match at Flint Hill academy Friday night. A great deal of timber is being shipped from Jamestown, such as oak, poplar and hickory. We are sorry to see Greensboro return to the old system of saloons. Why not have prohibition? Mr.

Moore and Miss Mary Petty, who have been on the sick list, are said to be improving. All indications point to extensive improvements here along several lines this year. A spirit of progress is in the air. Mr. Victor P.

Hammer's school at Flint Hill academy closes about March 22nd. His services as a teacher have been, quite satisfactory in every respect. We are glad to note that Mr. A. L.

Vickory, R. M. from Richmond to Charlotte, has decided to settle down in Jamestown. He is building a nice residence on the lot purchtieed of Mr. W.
