WHEAT (Continued From Page One) kept buyers busy finding places to store their purchases. Wheat growers from Rox n. Ambia High, Rowland, Di Chicota, Windom, Honey- Grove, and other places in Lamar, Fannm and Red River counties are bringing in big truck loads daily. Otis Ferguson of Ambia, growing wheat for the first time, got approximately a 30-bushel per acre yield on a 15-acre plot.

Ferguson said he plans to put more acreage in wheat next year. Hershel Love, a farmer in the Petty community, produced approximately 40 bushels per acre of registered Knox wheat. Glen CuLshall of Biardstown said his wheat is not as good as some other fields, but added that i yield will be 25 bushels per acre or better. He is growing the hard variety of wheat for his seco year, but is more pleased with his barley production of 35 to 50 bushels per acre. -Vetch is beginning to mature and is expected to be about average throughout the county.

It was at first believed that the crop would be excellent but excessive rain cut down the estimate. OaLs and barley are beginning to come in for sale and the crops are expected be good. Showers and wind hurt the product i somewhat, but the damage is not thought to be extensive.
