SOUTHERN CLEANERS Phone 198 the Wcstwood Village Theatre, It was a frightening, but pleasing event for the young actor, because he was once an usher at the same theatre. Peter finally landed a contract at M-G-M and played a bit in a film called "Pilot No. Five," which also featured a young actor named Gene Kelly. He advanced upward, helped by a good performance as Irene Dunne's son in "White Cliffs of Dover." "Son of Lassie" established him and the bobby-soxers took him to their hearts. To say that Pete hasn't changed would be pure.romanticism,' It is virtually impossible, for anyone-to become a celebrity and remain normal, especially in Hollywood where fame requires a vast amount of intrigue. But Pete has done a fair job of it.
