Raleigh Haberdasher 1310 Street INC was not permitted to call friends or notify an attorney. Conley's face was bruised severely. He was booked at the Jail for investigation. according to the chief of police. Later the charge was changed to disturbing the peace and this charge was dismissed after the mayor and chief of police iiad conferred.

Conley left last night for his home, but told Mayor Patton and city officials that he would return following the Fall election and press his complaint. An investigation was ordered last night. RITES FOR I. N. MILLER.

Funeral Services Tomorrow for Howard U. Graduate. Funeral services for Isaac Newton Miller, for many years physical director and coach at Armstrong High School and son of Dean Kelly Miller of Howard University, will be conducted in the Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel of Howard University tomorrow afternoon at 1 o'clock. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Mr.

Miller, who was 31 years old, died Wednesday following an operation. He was a graduate of Howard University. He is survived by his parents; his widow. Mrs. Clarissa Miller; two children, Annie Mae and Gloria Miller; two brothers, Dr.

OCTOBER 5. 1928. TWO WOMEN ARE HURT AS AUTO AND BUS CRASH Man Escapes Injury When Cranking Machine in Knocked Down. Two 18-year-old colored women, Myrtle Lancaster, 1297 Ninth street, and Eleanor Davis, 1519 Ninth street, were injured last night when an automobile in which they were riding collided with another car at Seventh and streets. The former was treated at Emergency Hospital for an injury to her scalp, while the latter was given first aid at George Washington Hospital for a cut over her right eye.

Mary Golden. 50 years old, Cathedral Mansions, received a severe injury to her head about 8:15 last night when knocked down at Eighteenth street and New Hampshire avenue by a bus driven by Clarence M. Hildebrand, 904 street. She was taken home after receiving first aid at Emergency Hospital. Andrew J.

Morris, 33 years old, 2375 Champlain street, narrowly escaped serious injury yesterday afternoon when he cranked his automobile while it was in gear in front of 1925 Fourteenth street. EMPLOYE, DIES Funeral Services to Be Held Tomorrow for Spanish-American War Veteran. Bartley J. Niland, 61 years old, Spanish-American War veteran and an employe of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing for a number of years, died in the United States Naval Hospital Wednesday after a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted in St. Catholic Church tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock following brief services at the residence, 3719 Jenifer street, at 9:30 a.m.

Interment wil be in Arlington Cemetery special services will be conducted by the Richard Harding Camp. United Spanish War Veterans, of which he was a member. Mr. Niland was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus and belonged to Keane Council. No.
